Our History
Clendons can trace its origins back to the practice of Chas Griffith established in 1915.
Clendons has been established for more than half of the period since the practice of law first commenced in New Zealand in 1840.
The late Bowen Clendon provides the firm with a link to the early legal history of New Zealand.
His grandfather James Reddy Clendon, an immigrant in 1832, was a colourful figure who was the first U.S. Consul, an early magistrate, Justice of the Peace and part of New Zealand's heritage.
Clendons is now an inner city commecial law firm, providing high-level strategic business and legal advice. Clendons North Shore has been established to provide similar services from Albany.
Clendons and Clendons North Shore receive instructions from hundred of companies and businesses.
